VALENTIME'S

FOR VALENTIME'S, NOT VALENTINE'S. Kept it exclusive for a week, but wanted to post it here 'cause I think it's pretty cute.

Started a new animation gig on Monday, so updates are going back to once a week again.

FREESTYLE FIZZ

The first project from Cloudkid I've worked on that's a secret no mo'!

Did a bunch of random things on this one, with a lot of help from Mike Annear, who animated the three main skating loops (normal, fast, and tired). I tackled all of the other moves and tricks in between, which were crazily boarded by Kim Hui.

I also did the introduction animation, two of the idle animations (the arm stretch and skate test) on the level select screen, and integrated the 3 main costumes on to Fizzy (THE TRON ONE'S MY FAV BTW) for the level select screen and throughout the actual game play.

Here are a couple progress stills, just to show what this stuff looks like before clean-up.

Have a two-week hiatus between freelancing gigs, so even though it's two weeks without pay, it's two weeks I have to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Going to try and post every other day during my break to keep motivated, SO LOOK OUT WORLD.

I DON'T PRIDE MYSELF ON CARICATURES, but just wanted to pay homage to these guys. Their specials have been getting me through the work week for months now, and no matter how many times I've listened, they're still funny.

Seeing Patton Oswalt this Saturday, so getting excited with an update.

HAVEN'T POSTED IN FOREVER, going to try and change that for 2011.

It's crazy how freelancing has put the kibosh on my desire to draw anything outside of work, BUT GOING TO TRY AND CHANGE THAT THIS YEAR. Copying Justin's resolution to try and update mo', shooting for at least once or twice a week.

GOT THE URGE TO DRAW AFTER BEING SO INSPIRED BY MY SUPER INSPIRATIONAL LAST POST.





Going to try and animate a 9 second sound clip in the same vein as the studio I'm currently freelancing at. Figure if anything it'll be good practice, get something new going for my reel.
